well it is finally happened, its taken years of pain staking searching, but astronomers have finally got a photo of a real black hole.
the image it self might not look like much to you or i, but it is proof that they do exist
The world-first image shows the supermassive black hole at the center of M87, a neighboring galaxy to our own Milky Way.
now some may say how can you see a black hole in a black space? well you cant, but what you can see in the affect a black hole has on the area around it, As a black hole uses gravity to pull things in ( dust radiation gas planets etc etc ) these thing collide together , you have a lot of stuff racing towards a very small opening. these various elements rub together harder and harder faster and faster eventually they start to generate heat and light, till the area around a black hole is creating more energy than a million suns
the black holes gravity is as strong at the edges which allows this heat and light to escape, which is why the image look like a doughnut, at the center is the black hole around the edge is the escaping heat and light.
